Having used Blackberry for the last couple of months, I have found that it simplifies keeping on top of things, particularly if you have to travel on business. Browsing the internet is easy with Blackberry and you can set bookmarks and quickly navigate to your favorite site. The Blackberry Pearl Smartphone has the extra wow factor of a built-in camera. You can take pictures and immediately email them to your friends – no messing about uploading them to your PC – do it straight from your handset. The smartphone comes complete with a USB connector, so transferring files between the Blackberry and your PC just couldn’t be easier.
Like Apple’s new iphone, the 8100 pearl uses Wifi, which gives much quicker data transfer – although, if you’re in an out of the way area, the connection may not be so good, but great if you’re in a densely populated area. The flash memory can be expanded with the aid of a Microsd card that gives you plenty of extra storage for music, photos and other types of data.
It’s difficult to make comparisons because I believe that the 8100 is really in a class of its own. The Pearal is not cheap and the handset could set you back $600. But, boy, is it useful! If, like me, you’re one of those people who spend half their lives rushing from one place to another, not always having the time to sit at the PC and deal with messages, the Blackberry is for you. No more irate calls asking why you haven’t dealt with an email – you’ll be able to pick up those high priority messages as soon as they turn up because the Blackberry will alert you. From my point of view, the Pearl is one of the best and easiest ways of making your life just that little bit more streamlined, as well as enjoyable.

In many cases, it’s what you might be paying just for local service from a traditional phone provider.
VOIP providers also provide many amazing features that you can’t receive with a regular telephone. You’ll probably get all of the features that you usually pay extra for, free. You’ll most likely get call waiting, three-way calling, caller ID, voicemail, etc. In addition to these standard features, you can integrate the phone into your computer easily. If you desire, your voicemail, can be routed directly to your email inbox. This is a neat feature that can come in handy. You can make multiple phone lines ring simultaneously. This can be very handy if you’re running a business. You can make your business phone ring on another phone line if necessary.
Another great feature of voice over ip is the ability to choose your own area code. You may be asking, “Why would I care what area code I’m in?” Imagine that you move and you want to keep the same number. All you have to do is pack up your box and move it. Then when you get to wherever you’re going, just plug the box back into your broadband connection and you’ll still have the same number. Now your Grandma can still call you without even learning a new number.

There are multiple VOIP providers for you to choose from. Probably the most well known of these is Vonage. They have very good call quality and many features available for everyone. It is not the cheapest provider, however. Other good providers are AOL, AT&T and Skype. Whichever one you choose, make sure it offers what you need.
